15 – Brian Duignan - You had to admire Brian Duignan and the character he showed. He has emerged into one of Offaly's most important players and his work rate was high, even when things were unravelling for them. He got Offaly's first point in their first attack and was hungry for the ball. Waterford were so on top for so long that there wasn't much possession going into the full forward line for long periods but Duignan continued to work. He was brilliant in the closing quarter, didn't get a blatant penalty when his hurl was held and scored five of his 12 points from play. You couldn't ask for much more than that and he was Offaly's best player. Rating – 9.
