Tyrone GAA legend Peter Canavan was waxing lyrical about the Offaly footballers after they made it three wins from three in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League on Sunday.

The team, jointly managed by Declan Kelly and Tyrone's All-Ireland winning manager Mickey Harte, cruised past Antrim on a 4-19 to 0-15 scoreline at O'Connor Park.

Offaly now sit joint top of Division 3 with neighbours Kildare who also made it three wins from three with a facile win over Leitrim at the weekend.

During the Allianz League Sunday highlights show on RTE, Peter Canavan discussed the Offaly performance and said they were "playing with smiles on their faces." Host Joanne Cantwell said it was "some start" by the Faithful.

Canavan noted the impressive scores Offaly have tallied in their opening three games, including 4-19 on Sunday, 2-19 against Laois and 1-17 against Sligo.

He singled out a couple of players, Dylan Hyland and Keith O'Neill, as "exceptional footballers" who are "getting the chance to express themselves" on the pitch.

Offaly's next assignment in Division 3 is a trip to Brewster Park in Enniskillen to face Fermanagh who have lost two of their opening three games this term, including a heavy defeat to Kildare in Newbridge on the opening weekend.
