Offaly goalkeeper's cheeky comment after scoring stunning goal against Laois

Offaly senior football goalkeeper Paddy Dunican made the headlines on Sunday as he scored a stunning goal to help the Faithful to a 2-19 to 1-17 win over neighbours Laois in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League.

The clip of the 'piledriver' goal was widely shared on social media on Sunday evening after being posted by the Offaly GAA official account on X.

One of the notable replies to the clip came from GAA podcaster, pundit and former Laois footballer Colm Parkinson via his 'Smaller Fish GAA' accounts.

He said: "Down with this sort of stuff, especially against Laois. I liked the celebration though."

Paddy Dunican himself responded to Parkinson with a cheeky comment. He posted back: "Hahaha on your own turf aswell pick that one out." Parkinson jokingly hit back describing the shot as a "hit and hope."

Offaly GAA's official accounts even replied to Parkinson, known by his nickname of Wooly. They said: "You're not the worst, Wooly."

Offaly have now enjoyed back-to-back wins in Division 3 and are dreaming of promotion after victory over Sligo last week. The results are a good sign of progress under Offaly's joint managers of Declan Kelly and Tyrone legend Mickey Harte.
