Country star Derek Ryan preparing for Offaly gig

Fresh from his appearances at the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan last week, country star Derek Ryan is plotting his return to Offaly.

Derek Ryan has become Irish country music's golden boy with chart-topping albums, self-written smash hit singles, box office busting live tours and of course – an army of faithful fans around the world.

The roll call of success for the multi-talented Carlow man is long and much deserved. He has won countless accolades including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Live Performer.  But he is perhaps proudest of the award-winning recognition for his songwriting abilities at the Sunday World and Irish Country Music Awards.

Derek is keen to let his music lead this tour and opted for unique venues for this intimate laid back tour, including birr Theatre in Offaly.

Derek has reached a pinnacle point in his career with his songwriting taking centre stage. He will peel everything back and focus on the storytelling in his lyrics in Offaly on Thursday, November 29 at 8pm.

This will be a casual encounter with more interaction from fans in a calm and intimate setting; it is a time to celebrate the music with musicians Enda Dempsey and Ray McLoughlin.

Tickets cost €25 and are available at Box Office 057 9122911 or www.birrtheatre.com.
