RATH Drama Group will present the hilarious comedy 'The Will To Surprise' in Rath Hall for three nights next week.
'The Will To Surprise' is a play written by Dave Tiernan, which centres around the outcome of the reading of a will, which reveals some surprises.
The play will be staged on Friday November 15th, Saturday November 16th and Sunday November 17th at 8pm each night.
The play is set is the late 1960s/early 1970s. Old Joe Murphy has passed away and his family are called to hear his last will and testament in his cottage in the country.
As the squabbling family arrive to receive their inheritance, greed soon takes over to push them further apart, and the deceased has left a few surprises of his own.
But who is the mystery woman called Stella?

Louise McEvoy is returning to direct in Rath for the sixth time. She has previously directed plays for Rath Drama including 'Mother Knows Best', 'Widow's Paradise', 'The Course', 'Holiday Snap' and 'Finders Keepers'.
Since its inaugural production of 'Big Maggie' in 2010 the Rath Drama group has gone from strength to strength, producing many well-known plays such as Don’t Dress for Dinner, Wake in the West, Callaghan’s Place, Fortunes and Misfortunes, Mother Knows Best and Widows Paradise.
The group has always been a place for people to meet and have some fun, both on and off the stage! The support shown to Rath Drama from the local and extended community has been unwavering over the years. Comedies have proved popular among audiences, but even the more serious productions have drawn full houses.
The members of the cast this year are: Audrey Spillane, Catherine Nolan, Pascal Horan, Dermot Horan, Michelle Egan, Eimear Ryan, Leona Kennedy, Liam Guinan, Mairead Rigney.
The characters in this year's production are described as follows:
Agnes – sister of the deceased, cranky old woman.
May – youngest daugher, cares for Agnes.
James – youngest son, waster, pretentious, carefree.
Richard – oldest son, abrupt, selfish.
Olivia – Richard's wife, quiet, easy going.
Paddy – family solicitor, doddery, likes a drink.
Trish – oldest daughers, dizzy, foolish, carefree.
Sandra – James' girlfriend, naive, silly.
Stella – Joe's new wife, well do do, abrupt, condescending.
The group are working hard preparing for the play and the committee are hard at work taking bookings.
