Offaly entertainer fronts big band's 15 date 25th anniversary nationwide tour

Birr's Dickie Donnelly will front the Route 66 big band on their 15 date Irish tour.

BIRR entertainer Dickie Donnelly will front the Dublin based Route 66 Big Band for their 25th anniversary Irish Theatre Tour.

The 19 piece band will be calling at 15 theatres nationwide. Dickie is currently signed to the Singers Secreto Agency in Belfast as a wedding and corporate entertainer for just under two years now and recently signed a short contract with Norwegian Cruise Liners for two short slots in the summer season.

Dickie was delighted to be asked to return to the stage for this tour as the band celebrate 25 years

Dickie is proud to bring this show to his local theatre in Birr and has invited a number of local special guests to join him on stage. They will be performing at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on Saturday next April 13th.

Route 66 the Kildare based band is composed of professional musicians including former showband members as well as RTE concert Orchestra and former Garda band members. This exciting musical journey takes you on a cruise from the 1940’s right up to today's hits packing a punch with a 10-piece brass section.

The band is fronted on this tour by award winning vocalist Dickie Donnelly & Wedding band sensation Lisa Kelly.

The band will treat you to Big Band sounds, jazz standards, soul, rock and roll and 21st century classics. The Birr show is quite special as it will feature local special guests Elvis legend Paul Murphy, theatre star Heather Colohan and local crooner favourite Diarmuid Guinan.

The band is a regular at the Rose of Tralee & Cork Jazz Festival.

This show sells out nationwide so be sure to book now to avoid disappointment.
