Members of the Roscrea Speakers Club
Roscrea Speakers Club are inviting new members for the New Year - offering you the chance to improve your public oration skills.
Our first meeting of 2024 took place last Thursday, January 4 and was conducted only on line through zoom. Fresh after our Christmas break members returned with a great enthusiasm to challenge themselves and grow in confidence and group speaking ability and also with an increased determination to help one another achieve our personal goals in the coming year .
We had two prepared speeches on the night - first from the pathway of Leadership Development titled 'My Christmas Countdown' and the second from the pathway of Presentation Mastery 'Think Win Win.' Both speeches were evaluated by fellow members where positive and suggestive feed back is given to each speaker by a fellow member and so we learn and grow with one another.
Another positive of this format is that the member giving the evaluation also gets an opportunity to practice compiling and delivering a report . Our Table topics section was also very challenging with the particular topics being presented to the members - very thought provoking and good fun.
In this section we practice speaking off the cuff on an unprepared topic and the challenge is to speak for two minutes. This develops our ability to conduct ourselves in social and work meeting situations where we have no time to prepare our answer - off the cuff speaking..
Guests are always welcome at our club meetings, so feel free to tune in on our meetings and see for yourself the benefits our club can offer you in your personal and working lives.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, January 18 at 8pm. This meeting is available as a hybrid meeting, in that it will be conducted in our normal meeting room in Racket Hall Hotel , Roscrea , E53WV00 , but also available on zoom via meeting link.
