Roscrea Heritage Society seeking new members

Roscrea Heritage Society's Blackmills Sessions promise top class summer shows

Audiences have been delighted with Roscrea Heritage Society's very successful series of music sessions in the Black Mills complex adjacent to the Round Tower on Church Street

Roscrea Heritage Society is made up of a small group of volunteers whose aim is to promote and preserve our natural, built and cultural heritage.

The society promotes local heritage by organising events, researching history and acting as an advocate for the cultural, natural, intangible and digital heritage of Roscrea town and its wider area.

The Society has a Facebook page for short snippets of news and their website will be continuously developed with projects, archival finds, heritage stories, photos and more.

Current Society members are Pamela Aitken (Chair/PRO), Brí Greene (Treasurer), Brian Redmond, Séamus Mullaney, Charles Lamb (Secretary), Joe Stapleton and Esther Griffin. Dr. George Cunningham is honorary lifetime president.

The society welcomes new volunteers so if you have an interest in the history of your local area and can spare a few hours to help out with organising and manning events, the society would love to hear from you.

For more information contact Pamela Aitken on (085) 7114183.
