Linda and Jim on their wedding day in 1975
Congratulations to Linda and Jim McGovern, Coolnahiley, Tullamore who celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss with their family last weekend.
Jim, who is a native of county Cavan, and Tullamore woman, Linda, married on August 9 1975.
They have three children Melanie, Liana and Solita and four grandchildren Ben, Ella, Hugo and Theo.
Their daughter Liana sent the Tribune this poem in her parents honour.
50 years is long enough
Even when times were tough
3 children later all of which are girls
Lots of twirling, stamping feet and curls
4 grandchildren giving you endless smiles
Some sad tears have been shed at times
But together you have pushed on through,
50 years you have been the glue
We love you both so very much
Look what can develop from a crush x
Love us all x
