Explore the Slieve Blooms with the local hiking club

Visit the Kinnitty Castle loop in the Slieve Blooms with Roscrea Trailblazers
Join the popular local hiking club to visit the beautiful Slieve Bloom mountains this week.
The great spell of good weather seems to have come to an end for now, but the Roscrea Trailblazers hiking club is still enjoying some late summer sunshine.
Geraldine Fox led a group of fellow hikers around the Golden Grove loop near Roscrea last Friday night and did a fine job of looking after the group after recently completing her Get Ireland Walking training.
The club had their annual club weekend away on the Beara Peninsula, with a walk on Saturday around Dursey Island followed by a Sunday hike around the Lighthouse Loop on Bere Island. Well done to everyone that made the effort.
This Friday night's walk is the Kinnitty Castle loop in the Slieve Blooms.
Distance: 7.5 km, Grade: Easy/Moderate, Time: two hours and meeting at the Kinnity Castle carpark at 7pm.
The club would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below.
To join the group and to see what the club has to offer please follow the contact details below.
If you would like to join them on any of their night walks or weekends away, you can contact Cathal on (086) 3399 193 and receive updates through WhatsApp.
