Passengers on the 19.35 Dublin to Galway train on Tuesday, September 17 say they were disgusted by the behaviour of a group of youths who boarded the train at Portarlington station.
The youths proceeded into Coach C on the train and passengers said they basically took over.
Jumping on the seats, pounding the roof of the train with their fists, shouting and yelling and singing at the top of their voices. Some had cans and bottles of alcohol in their hands.
''They had no regard for any other passengers in the coach and showed complete disrespect. How were they allowed to get onto the train with alcohol?'' asked one person.
Some people made contact with the train driver using the 'talk to train driver' facility at the end of each carriage. However, up to the time these passengers disembarked at Tullamore station nothing had happened.
''There were a number of security personnel on the train but they didn't do anything either,'' one woman said.
