5 – Rory Egan -The Offaly defence as a unit was a bit swamped in the second half and that is the nature of modern football. They definitely conceded too many two pointers. Rory Egan had a very good first half and worked hard in the second. Rating – 6

6.
6 – John Furlong -John Furlong had a very solid game. His tackling and reading of the game was spot on and he got forward when he could. He was one of Offaly's better defenders as Meath came at them at waves in the second half. Rating – 8

7.
7 – Cormac Egan -You had to admire the work rate and determination levels of Cormac Egan. He was earmarked for special attention by Meath and took some heavy hits but kept going, kept taking the punishment and driving. He had a really good first half and while a couple of Meath's two pointers did come from Egan's general area in the second half, he had a decent game – though he was stopped from getting upfield much in the second half. Rating – 8

8.
8 – Jack McEvoy - Jack McEvoy drained every ounce of energy and did a serious amount of work at midfield. He did tire in the second half when he made a couple of crucial mistakes but no one could fault him for desire and laying his body on the line. A very workmanlike display. Rating – 6
