Prosecuted for speeding at Tullamore District Court

A WOMAN was banned from driving for three months after being caught speeding for a third time.

Anna Hutchinson, Castle Court, Shinrone was summonsed by Garda Mark Kenny for speeding at Ballynacard, Kilcormac on February 4 last.

Garda Kenny told Tullamore District Court he was conducting a speed check at 3.20pm on that date when he recorded a vehicle travelling at 131kph in a 100kph zone.

The garda said a fixed charge penalty notice had not been paid and the accused, who was not in court, had nine previous convictions, including two for speeding. The most recent of the convictions was in 2017.

Along with the three-month disqualification, Judge Andrew Cody imposed a fine of €400.
