Congratulations has been extended to St. Vincent de Paul, Clara, on the success of their innovative project to showcase all that Clara has to offer.

Over 30 organisations, community groups, and local businesses participated in the event, held in Clara’s iconic Community Centre, fondly known as the STAR and owned by the GAA.

A special thanks to the GAA for their continued support and generosity in making the hall available for community use.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the Clara Town Band took to the stage and provided wonderful entertainment throughout the afternoon, creating a lively and welcoming environment for all who attended.

''It was truly remarkable to see the number of active community organisations in Clara, as well as the impressive array of family-run craft businesses that call the town home. Established retailers and statutory services also took the opportunity to showcase their facilities, enriching the experience for visitors,'' said a spokesperson.

''Perhaps the most uplifting part of the day was the palpable sense of community spirit – something Clara is famously known for. Stallholders were heartened by the number of visitors from outside the town, particularly newcomers to the Midlands region, who were eager to explore the town’s offerings. What they found was a vibrant hub of activity, with exceptional services and a dynamic summer programme of events and festivals.

It’s also clear that many of these wonderful services and initiatives are still relatively unknown to the wider region. Events like this are vital in bridging that gap, and we owe a huge thanks to the dedicated volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul who made it all happen. Their tireless work continues to uplift both the people of Clara and the town itself.

Here’s hoping this fantastic event becomes an annual tradition, growing stronger and more vibrant each year,''
