Shona Heaslip of An Ríocht AC and Laura traded the lead over the first four kilometres but then the Kerry woman began to pull clear. Laura fought on and should be happy to be on the podium in a race against tough competition. Laura’s medal brjngs to three the number of medals Tullamore Harriers have won this outdoor season in National Senior competitions following on from Madison Mooney's bronze in the 1500m and Ava O’Connors silver in the 3000m steeplechase. Superb performances by all three young ladies.
