Pippa welcomes participants at the parkrun on Saturday
his week, on a lovely Spring morning, 73 people ran, jogged and walked the course.
It was a special morning for Run Director Pippa Hackett who celebrated her 100th time to volunteer at Mountlucas parkrun, nearly all of them as Run Director.
In 2017, Pippa was the driving force in the establishment of the Mountlucas parkrun and she continues to be heavily involved in the organising and running of the event.
Speaking after the event, Pippa said “it is such a pleasure to work with wonderful people at Mountlucas parkrun. It’s with thanks to the volunteers each week, and the dedication of the run directors, Kevin, Penny, Paschal, Neil and Mark, that we’ve seen this event grow over the years. With an average of 50 people taking part each Saturday morning, it’s a huge positive for locals and visitors alike. Community spirit at its best”.
Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 Countries across the world.
Mountlucas Parkrun is based at Mountlucas Wind farm outside Daingean, so why not turn up at 9.30 am on Saturday morning to see what it is all about.
