England defender Lotte Wubben-Moy signs new Arsenal deal

England defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has signed a new contract at Arsenal, the Women’s Super League club have announced.

The 26-year-old has made 143 senior appearances for the Gunners, scoring 10 goals, and won three FA Cup and two League Cups across two spells with the club.

Wubben-Moy was first called up to the England squad in September 2020 and has since earned 13 caps for the Lionesses.

She said: “I feel a huge amount of pride, excitement and optimism to once again put pen to paper at this special football club.

“Arsenal is the club I want to win with and I feel this new contract comes at a time in my career where my ambitions are matched by my abilities on the pitch. I’m determined to make this next chapter count.”

Arsenal have not specified the length of the deal.

Wubben-Moy was a part of England’s Euro 2022-winning squad and was in the squad which finished runners-up to Spain at the 2023 World Cup.

Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers said: “We’re so happy that Lotte has signed a new contract. Lotte is a top defender who has shown significant progression in recent years and will continue to play an important role as we pursue our shared goal of competing for the highest honours in the game.”

Wubben-Moy came through the Arsenal academy and made her senior debut in 2015. She left for American college football at North Carolina before returning to the Gunners in 2020.

She was voted Arsenal’s player of the season in 2023-24.

Arsenal director of women’s football Clare Wheatley added: “We’re very proud of Lotte’s journey from our academy to our first team, through to this new contract here with us.

“Lotte is a wonderful role model for all young players – an example of how hard work, strong values and determination are the platform for success.”
