Dan Udoh nets late winner for Wycombe at Burton

Substitute Dan Udoh grabbed the winner as Wycombe made it nine games unbeaten in League One with a 3-2 win at strugglers Burton.

West Ham loanee Gideon Kodua broke the deadlock with his first EFL goal after 16 minutes, slotting home from 10 yards having been picked out by Josh Scowen’s low pass down the side of the Brewers defence.

Albion had looked the brighter of the two teams up to that point and their performance was rewarded when Danilo Orsi pounced for his fourth goal in as many games.

Terence Vancooten burst forward and his cross was volleyed goalwards by Ben Whitfield, with Albion’s leading scorer able to convert from close range.

Wycombe went back in front eight minutes into the second half, former Albion striker Bez Lubala hitting the far post with a deflected shot and Luke Leahy finding himself in the right place to put the rebound into the net.

But as the game flowed from end to end it was Charlie Webster, Albion’s summer signing from Chelsea, who grabbed his first goal in English football with a 25-yard piledriver in the 63rd minute.

Wycombe went in front again after 81 minutes with what proved to be the deciding goal when Udoh tapped home from close range from fellow substitute Fred Onyedinma’s low cross.
