Queen of the Land Festival 2023

J Grennan & Sons Queen of the Land festival will take place in the County Arms Hotel from the 10th to 12th of November, 2023.

The organising committee are delighted to welcome 26 contestants to the festival, as it celebrates its 59th year. It is encouraging to see the large number of entries from all over the country and we wholeheartedly welcome them to Birr.

J Grennan & Sons are our new sponsor, without which, the festival could not be run. It is great to have a local sponsor who has worked actively with us, in organising and supporting this great event.

Their experience and involvement in community events has proven invaluable – and we are very grateful.

Judges of this year’s contest are Maria Walsh, a Rose of Tralee winner; Rachel McNamara, 2023 Queen of the Land winner and Sean Finan Guest Judge former Marca President, Kieran Corrigan Main sponsor Judge on behalf of Grennans.

The weekend kicks off on Friday 10th November with a Tour to Grennan Mills in Rath with the official opening at the square in Birr @7pm.

Saturday sees a day of interviews and up stage interviews and whistling donkeys on stage.

Sunday evening will see the banquet and announcement of the winner followed by all folk'd up.

Tickets are available online for both nights, link can be found on our Facebook page.
