A pitch and putt player from Edenderry reached the semi-final of 2025 All Ireland Pitch & Putt Matchplay event which was held in Offaly this year.
Angela Connolly from Eden Pitch & Putt in Edenderry participated in the All Ireland Nett Match Play held over three days in the fabulous course in Erry Pitch and Putt in Clara, Co Offaly.
Eden Pitch & Putt said Angela played three tough 36 hole matches between Saturday and Sunday to reach the Semi Finals on Bank Holiday Monday.
They said: "In her first match, Angela played Christina Foley from the Athgarvan Club in Co Kildare with the game ending with a 9up score to Angela with 8 holes left to play."
Angela's second game in the competition was on the Sunday where she played Catherine Dillon from the St Bridget's Club in Co Kildare. Angela again won comfortably with a 8up finish with just six holes left to play.

Angela's third match was also played on the Sunday where she played local Erry lady, Linda Flanagan. This was a very tight game where Angela won on the 35th hole with 2 holes up.
The semi final on the Monday saw Angela lock horns with another Kildare lady from the Athgarvan club, Laura Fogarty, and the pair battled their way to the final hole after an extremely close match where both won a hole and the other brought the next hole to all square.
It was all square on the 36th hole and Angela conceded the game, giving Laura the win with 1up which took Laura into the 2025 All Ireland Matchplay final.
Eden Pitch & Putt said in a statement: "We would like to say well done to Angela for an excellent weekend of Pitch and Putt, and a fantastic achievement on her first time to enter the National Matchplay.
"All in Eden Pitch and Putt Edenderry were delighted to see Angela do so well, and as a very young club, we are very proud of her achievement in the National Matchplay Championships 2025."
The club also mentioned a side note from Angela: "She would like to say thanks very much to the ladies she played in her matches, that she enjoyed each one of the games and credits them all for their sportsmanship throughout the games.
"Angela would like to congratulate all the winners, runners up, semi finalists etc.
"And just to say thanks to all that supported her over the weekend it was gratefully appreciated. Especially Richard, Shannon and Shane, and to everyone who sent messages of support."
Angela stated she had a great few days in Erry Pitch and Putt and she would also like to compliment the greens keepers and all involved in Erry Pitch and Putt Club for the magnificent condition of the course and for their hospitality both on and off the course, with parking etc.
