Offaly man achieves a lifelong dream

AN Offaly aviation enthusiast, Dara Rosney, from Ballincanty, Tullamore, has officially taken to the skies as a commercial pilot fulfilling a lifelong dream that began in his early childhood.

From looking up at the sky as a young child to assembling his own computer to run flight simulation software, to his training at the Atlantic Flight Training Academy, the journey to the cockpit has been a long but rewarding one involving years of intense training and examinations.

The youngest son of Damien and Imelda Rosney, Dara’s dedication culminated last week in a special ceremony where he was officially presented with his commercial pilot wings at Ryanair Headquarters marking his transition from student pilot to fully certified commercial pilot.

With his commercial license now secured, the sky is quite literally the limit.

Dara is based out of Stanstead in the U.K. flying many different European destinations with Ryanair.

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement and many years of enjoyable and safe flying Dara.
