The South Offaly Ploughing championships have been rescheduled for Sunday February 27th.
THE South Offaly Ploughing branch's annual ploughing match, which was scheduled for Sunday last, was postponed for a week and is now due to go ahead next Sunday.
With Storm Eunice battering the country, the organisers took the decision last Friday afternoon to postpone the event.
The championships, which will be held on the lands of Pat Dooley at Rathgibbon, Killyon, Birr, by kind permission, have been rescheduled for Sunday next February 27th, weather permitting, of course.
The event will be ploughing only this year with no trade stands. The competitions start at 12 noon. The branch are looking forward to running a full event again in 2023.
