Gardaí have confirmed a man aged in his 40s has died after an accident that occurred in a meat processing facility in Roscrea in Co. Tipperary.
The incident occurred at approximately 3pm at the Roscrea plant on Monday (March 9), with Gardaí and emergency service personnel responding to the incident.
A man aged in his 40s was pronounced dead and his body was removed from the scene of the incident, and the local coroner was informed of the incident.
Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority (HSE) have launched an investigation.

"A male in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has since been removed from the scene. The local coroner has been notified. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will conduct its own investigation," a statement from the Gardaí said.
