BREAKING: Man arrested in connection with Roscrea car hijacking

Gardaí have arrested an individual aged in their 40's as part of an investigation into the violent theft of a car on Roscrea's Main Street on Sunday last.

Gardaí investigating the theft of a vehicle in Midleton, Co Cork and hijacking of a vehicle in Roscrea, Co Tipperary that occurred on Sunday, November 2, 2025, have arrested a male in his 40s this morning, Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

The male is currently being detained at a Garda Station in Co Cork under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigations are ongoing into the incident which resulted in an outpouring of anger by the Roscrea community, culminating in a protest outside the town's Garda Station which blocked the Main Street for over an hour.
