Credit unions across North Tipperary joined forces once again this year to showtheir support for Daffodil Day and the incredible work of North Tipperary Hospice Movement.

A special presentation took place on Daffodil Day, Friday 28th March, where representatives from Premier Credit Union, Borrisokane Credit Union, Templemore Credit Union, and Nenagh Credit Union came together to present the proceeds of their annual fundraising efforts. In total, over €5,000 was raised for North Tipperary Hospice.

The funds were collected throughout the Christmas period in each credit union branch through donations received for the Annual Calendar, produced by the Tipperary Credit Unions Marketing Alliance.

This initiative brings together credit unions from both North and South Tipperary, with South Tipperary credit unions also raising funds for South Tipperary Hospice. Across the county, members donated a combined total of over €9,000, which was presented to both hospices at separate events to mark Daffodil Day.

Speaking at the presentation, Paddy Caddell of North Tipperary Hospice expressed heartfelt thanks to the credit unions for their continued support: “We are incredibly grateful for this generous contribution. The support of local credit unions, and indeed their members, makes a real difference in helping us deliver vital services. The need for funding is constant—not just here in North Tipperary, but nationwide and it’s the dedication of volunteers that helps keep hospice care going in so many communities.”

Brian King, CEO of Premier Credit Union, spoke on behalf of the participating credit unions: “This initiative reflects the spirit of cooperation and community that credit unions are built on.

“We’re proud to work together to support such a worthy cause. Most importantly, we want to thank our members for their incredible generosity – this would not be possible without them.”

The credit unions of North Tipperary remain deeply committed to supporting the work of North Tipperary Hospice and will continue raising awareness and funds for this vital service.
