A car overturned in a ditch in Belmont
A single vehicle road traffic accident recently took place in Belmont village.
The accident happened at 8.20pm on February 25 on Ferbane Road in the village.
“A female driver was in the car,” said a Garda spokesperson. “The car went into a ditch and turned over onto its roof."
Gardai say the driver was arrested at the scene and brought back to Birr Garda Station where a sample was taken for possible alcohol and drugs in her system.
This sample has been sent away to be analysed.
