ALERT: Met Eireann Warning issued for Ireland with heavy rain and thundery downpours to hit the country
Met Eireann has issued a Warning for all of Ireland with heavy rain and thundery downpours on the way later today and through the night.
According to Met Eireann, a band of heavy rain will move eastwards across the country on Sunday night and Monday morning, with thundery downpours possible.
Potential Impacts include localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility. The warning comes into place at 10pm and remains in place until 8am.
The Met Eireann weather forecast for today says that most places will be dry with sunny spells today. It'll turn cloudier with showers through the afternoon, merging up by evening in the west. Highest temperatures 20 to 25 degrees with a moderate to fresh southeasterly wind developing.
Widespread rain tonight, heavy at times with the chance of thunderstorms and local flooding, will move west to east across the country tonight. Lowest temperatures 13 to 16 degrees with moderate, occasionally fresh, southerly winds veering westerly with the clearance of the rain.
Tomorrow will be mainly dry with sunny spells Highest temperatures 18 to 22 degrees with light to moderate westerly winds.
