Sinn Féin member in the Roscrea Templemore LEA, Breandán Ó'Conchúir, has written to Tipperary County Council and the National Transport Authority to ask that bus shelters be provided at the stop on Abbey Street.
“I raised this issue with the council at the end of last year and was informed that they were looking into the possibility of installing bus shelters in Roscrea.
“There has been no development since then so I have contacted the council again to request that bus shelters be provided at the Abbey Street stop. There is almost 50 buses a day using this stop between buses to Limerick, Nenagh, Portlaoise, Athlone, and Dublin, this is a high number of people to be left standing in the rain on a wet day.
“Shelters would be a welcome addition for those using the services and I will continue to pursue the matter with the Council”, Breandán Ó'Conchúir said.
