Clendennen welcomes funding for local clubs and community organisations

Cllr John Clendennen

CLLR John Clendennen has welcomed an announcement by Minister Heather Humphreys of substantial funding for local clubs and community groups across Offaly, particularly the Birr Municipal District.

"The funding announced under the Local Enhancement Programme is about giving a helping hand to local groups and clubs, who are the building blocks of Irish community life”, according to Cllr Clendennen.
'These grants will support thousands of people across the area that are involved in community organisations, clubs, men’s and women’s sheds, youth centres and parish halls, to continue to provide their valuable services to the people in their areas. I want to congratulate all groups with their successful applications under the scheme and wish them well for the future', concluded Cllr Clendennen.
