Man found with €10,000 worth of cannabis under car seat in Tullamore
A man found with €10,000 worth of cannabis herb in his car had his case put back for directions from the DPP.
In his evidence to the court Sgt James O’Sullivan said that on March 11, 2022, at 9.40pm, Garda Hughes saw a red Ford Mondeo acting suspiciously at Bachelors Walk, Tullamore.
He spoke to the driver Patrick Loughman (20) Fairfield, Killmurray, Tullamore, Offaly, and as he was doing so he got the smell of cannabis. A search of the car revealed a black bag under the seat containing €10,000 worth of cannabis. Solicitor Donal Farrelly said his client was asked to hold the stuff.
Sgt James O’Sullivan sought an adjournment of four months. Judge Alec Gabbett asked why the case was before the district court. Adjourning it to April 20 for directions from the DPP he said that could change.
