3: Full back – Declan Hogan (Tullamore)
Declan Hogan is an automatic selection on this team. He had the best year of his career and his performances at full back were pivotal for Tullamore. While Hogan has played a lot of football at corner back, he has been something of a free spirit, liking to attack when he could. Centre half back for Tullamore last year, this year he concentrated completely on his primary defensive duty and it yielded a rich dividend. He was brilliant on Niall McNamee in the two county finals and was one of the first names pencilled in here.
