Company 'positive' about providing wireless broadband across rural Offaly

Company 'positive' about providing wireless broadband across rural Offaly

Fianna Fail councillor Eddie Fitzpatrick says he continues to receive queries regarding the rollout of broadband in rural areas across the county but to date, "very little progress has been made with the rollout of fibre in rural areas."

Cllr Fitzpatrick says he is working closely with a company called Cignal who are "very positive" about providing wireless broadband across areas of the county that still have little or no service.

"This company are working with broadband providers across the Midlands to ensure the rural areas will have sufficient coverage over the coming months which in turn will allow people who wish to work from their homes the opportunity to do so," Cllr Fitzpatrick said.

"I will continue to keep in contact with this company and keep the communities updated on progress as it happens," he concluded.
