Gardai in Birr are investigating a theft of lead roofing from a school on the Offaly/Tipperary border near Shinrone.
The incident occurred at Drumakeenan National School over the weekend.
Gardai are asking anyone that might have noticed anything suspicious over the weekend, any vehicles and persons at the location to contact them in Birr.
"If you passed the location between Friday afternoon and this morning and you saw anything or have dashcam footage please check it and let the Gardai in Birr know," Laois-Offaly Crime Prevention officer, Sgt Graham Kavanagh said.
