Offaly company await planning decision on major upgrade works
Offaly dairy company Glenisk are awaiting a decision from Offaly County Council for planning permission for a major upgrade of their facility in Killeigh, Co Offaly.
Glenisk, based beside the Cleary family farm, has been producing organic yoghurt and milk for more than 17 years, promoting and working towards a vision of an 'organic Ireland.'
This vision has seen them growing their ambitions, culminating in these development plans which have been validated with Offaly County Council in recent days after a request for further information on an application made last summer.
The company plan to construct a 1,124sqm ground floor extension as well as a 162sqm extension to their main building.
The development will involve the removal of existing storage tanks and chiller unit, demolition of existing temporary chill storage rooms, storage sheds, toilet area, partial demolition of boundary wall, as well as the partial trimming of hedgerows and removal of existing trees affected by a proposed new site entrance.
Offaly County Council is due to make a decision on the plans in early March.
