Offaly libraries have been handed a funding boost, Minister Michael Ring has announced.
"I am really pleased to secure confirmation from my Government colleague, Minister Michael Ring TD that over €116,000 has been allocated to the Library Service in County Offaly," Offaly Fine Gael TD Marcella Corcoran Kennedy said.
"This funding will enable the libraries in Offaly to invest in ICT infrastructure and to create new innovative meeting spaces with cutting-edge technology. The new facilities will attract people from all ages into our local libraries."
"The Government is committed to ensuring that our libraries are enablers of digital services and facilitators of digital skills development," Marcella added.
"This significant investment for Offaly is an important first step."
