Midlands Leisure Centre and GAA club targeted by thieves
The town of Portarlington on the Laois/Offaly border and its surrounding areas were hit with a number of break-ins at the weekend.
Portarlington Leisure Centre was broken into on Saturday night at 11.15pm and a small silver car was seen leaving scene.
Gardai said that the offices in the Leisure Centre were ransacked, but it has not been made clear whether or not anything was stolen.
O'Dempseys GAA club in Killenard was also broken into and an attempt was made to remove property. The office was also ransacked. It is not clear if anything was stolen.
Gardaí have not ruled out the possibility of a connection between both crimes.
