15: Left corner forward – Shane Tierney (Daingean): A tough call between Ballinagar's Morgan Tynan, Tubber's Bernard Allen and Daingean's Shane Tierney. Tynan remains one of the most naturally gifted players in Offaly but he was inconsistent. When he was good, he was excellent and brought so much to the table to Ballinagar. His importance to them is considerable and they had to have him firing on all cylinders to win this title. He was below his best, however, in the semi-final and final, though he finished well in the semi-final against Daingean and injury was a factor in his being a peripheral figure in the final. Bernard Allen was once again very dangerous for Tubber. Now in the veteran stages of his career, he was a big factor in them going close to qualifying. He had great games against Ballinagar and Daingean and could very easily make it. Shane Tierney gets the nod. He didn't feature at all in Daingean's very poor opening round defeat by Clara and only came on as a sub in a couple of games before starting in their lucky come from behind group win over Ballinagar. He was excellent from here on. His six points, four from play, helped Daingean survive a major scare against Ballycumber, he was excellent in their crucial win over Tubber in their last group game and he almost put Ballinagar to the sword in the semi-final before they lost it with victory in their grasp. The quality of those performances makes him a worthy choice.
