Offaly forestry company win prestigious national award

Tullamore's Worrell Timber Group scoop top honour at national Fleet Transport Awards

WORRELL Timber Group based in Tullamore, were winners at the recent national Fleet Transport Awards. Established in 1992 the company offer a wide range of services including forestry thinnings and clearfell, to biomass supply for energy and contract haulage.

The event showcases the incredible work being carried out by companies and individuals within the Fleet and Haulage industry throughout the country.

Shortlisted in five categories, National Haulier of the Year, Innovation Award, Safety Practice Award, Women in Transport Award, Fleet Transport Manager of the Year, recognising the efforts of Banagher native Brian Rogers who oversees the day to day running of the Maintenance & Haulage Department, and Livery Award.

The company were delighted to be announced as winners of the Innovation Award 2026. This award recognises the time and effort invested in creating the companies bespoke Log-Watch system, a robust timber traceability system, providing a wealth of information to assist in all aspects of our operation from Sales & Stock control to Customer and Supplier record management, online docket recording system which notes all timber load movements, provides automated notifications to the forest owner via email and txt message allowing for full transparency of activity taking place on forestry sites and greater confidence to the grower on the reliability of that information and accuracy of payments being received for their product.

The award is sponsored by easytrip I DKV and was presented at the Awards ceremony which took place at The Johnston House Hotel on October 16th and attended by over 650 industry professionals.
