'You're so vain' - Robin in Offaly crapping on cars in Offaly while looking in mirror
While we are all used to birds leaving their droppings on our cars from a height are if we are parked under trees, a vain robin in Offaly has taken it to a new level.
This particular robin seems to like admiring himself in car wing mirrors but he is leaving a mess behind all down the side of an Offaly family's cars.
The robin perches on the side of the car and sits looking in the wing mirror but while he is there, he does his business all down the car door.
"It started a few weeks ago," the home owner told Offaly Live, "and now he flies in every morning and spends time looking at himself. It would be very cute if he wasn't leaving a rotten mess all down the side of the cars."
And it appears the robin doesn't mind which car he uses and even goes as far as making his mark on any car in the drive.
"We had visitors last weekend and in the couple of hours they were there, he had managed to leave his mark on both cars."
According to www.robintales.com, while robins exhibit a range of behaviours in response to their reflections in mirrors and windows, there is no definitive evidence to suggest that they possess the cognitive ability to recognize these reflections as themselves. They might want to have a look at this robin in Offaly that really does seem to just enjoy admiring himself.
