A man appeared in court accused of money laundering in relation to €22,500 in cash at a hotel in the Midlands.

Algimantas Mikstriunas (35) of No Fixed Abode, is accused of money laundering €22,500 at the Midlands Park Hotel, Jessop Street, Portlaoise on April 12, 2025.

He appeared before a sitting of Portlaoise District Court where Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the book of evidence was ready to be served. However, he said there was a co-accused who was due in court in December and he asked that the books be served on both defendants on the same date.
