Offaly's Alex Dunne sets fastest time in F2 in practice in Belguim
Offaly driver Alex Dunne was in strong form during the opening session of the Spa-Francorchamps weekend, setting the fastest time in Free Practice for Rodin Motorsport.
He completed the iconic track in the Ardenne Mountains in a time of 1:59.519 at an average speed of 210.965kph. PREMA Racing’s Gabriele Minì was second fastest, 0.399s behind Dunne with Victor Martins third for ART Grand Prix.
The Offaly driver comes into the weekend in third in the F2 World Championship on 108 points, 14 points behind leader Richard Verschoor. Dutch driver Verschoor was only seventh fastest in practice this morning.
F2 Qualifying takes place at 1.50pm on Friday with the Sprint Race on Saturday at 12.45pm and the Feature Race is on Sunday at 9am.
