KILLOUGHEY'S Danny Owens and Ferbane's Eamon Dooley – two retired Fianna Fail county councillors – were honoured by Taoiseach Michéal Martin at a function in Leinster House on Wednesday last.

At the function – hosted by Tullamore based Fianna Fail TD, Tony McCormack – the duo were presented with certificates by An Taoiseach for their incredible service to Fianna Fáil, Offaly, and their local communities.

Commented Deputy McCormack: "Both men have given decades of tireless work, and it was fitting to see that commitment recognised at the heart of our democracy."

"We had a great discussion with the Taoiseach on the matters of the day—politics, policy, and of course a bit of hurling and football," outlined Deputy McCormack.
