Front row start for Alex done at British F2 Feature Race at Silverstone
Alex Dunne will start on the front row at the British F2 Feature Race at Silverstone on Sunday after a fantastic lap in qualifying and a few off track excursions.
The Offaly driver, who sits second in the F2 World Championship despite an after race disqualification in Austria last weekend, put in one blinding lap to qualify in second less than a tenth of a second behind pole sitter Victor Martins.
The pair were over two tenths of a second ahead of the rest field with Jack Crawford in third and Richard Stanek in fourth.
Championship leader Richard Verschoor, who is 24 points ahead of Alex Dunne in the World Championship, qualified in third.
For the sprint race on Saturday, the top ten is reversed meaning Alex Dunne will start in ninth with Leo Fornaroli on pole.
Both races will be live on Sky Sports F1 on Saturday and Sunday. The Sprint Race is on at 1pm on Saturday with the Feature Race on at 11am on Sunday.
