1. Paddy Dunican - Paddy Dunican has been a terrific asset to the Offaly team since returning from abroad. His influence has been curtailed a bit since the new rules were tightened up to limit the impact of raiding goalkeepers. The early rules suited Dunican down to the ground as he is a very good footballer and played at underage level in the Offaly attack before finding his niche in goals at senior. Goalkeepers, however, were having too big of an impact on games and the decision to restrict this was a very good one. It meant that the Shamrocks man has not been as prominent up the field, though he does still move forward. He was at fault for Kildare's second half goal here but cancelled that out with a great point blank save from Darragh Kirwan moments later. He encountered some kickout difficulties in the first half of the loss in Clare a week earlier but was much more consistent here – with kickouts having to go outside the 40 metre arc, they often have no option but to go long. Rating – 7.
