Six leading German tour operators explored Offaly and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
These tour operators are important partners for Tourism Ireland, as they bring valuable German tourists to Ireland each year. Tourism Ireland aims to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering, given that this is a key time to influence the addition of new tourism products to their programmes for 2025 and beyond.
The group’s action-packed itinerary included a visit to Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery Experience and a short cruise on the River Shannon with Silverline Cruises. They also enjoyed an overnight stay in the Bridge House Hotel and dinner in The Blue Apron Restaurant.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “Working with the travel trade remains an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Germany and we were delighted to invite these leading German tour operators – who bring valuable tourists to Ireland – to visit Offaly and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Our aim is to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their programmes, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
