Gardaí examining CCTV following 'disturbing' incident at supermarket in the Midlands
Gardaí are examining CCTV footage following an incident at Supervalu in Rathdowney on Monday.
Gardaí said the incident occurred when a male who was “previously identified for shoplifting” was spotted in a shop just after 3pm on Monday.
Gardaí said the man was approached by staff and “pushed staff while exiting” the store at 3.20pm.
A social media post on the shop's social media described the incident as “disturbing” and claimed the man had assaulted three staff members as he left the shop.
Gardaí said they are viewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation. The incident is being investigated by gardaí at Abbeyleix Garda Station.
