ALERT: Warning issued as Taylor Swift fan duped out of €360 in ticket scam
A warning has been issued after a woman fell victim to a Taylor Swift ticket scam, which left her at a loss of €360.
On Thursday, May 9, the woman from Limerick, saw Taylor Swift tickets for sale on Facebook and she sent the money via Revolut to the seller.
After the money was paid, the tickets were never received, the Facebook page was deleted and the buyer wasn't able to contact the seller.
Garda Sergeant Ber Leetch warned, "there is such a huge demand for Taylor Swift concert tickets and the scammers know this.
"The buyers are too excited and in such a hurry to grab these tickets that they may not check the situation out properly."
Sgt Leech said if people are buying things online and they have any doubts or something seems too good to be true, they should stop.
