A fund-raising campaign for the family of a young Tullamore mother-of-five who died tragically last weekend had raised almost €20,000 by early on Friday afternoon.
The GoFundMe campaign was set up by friends of the late Lisa Hoey to help the family financially in the wake of their tragic loss.
"We are asking for help after the sudden tragic passing of our best friend Lisa Hoey ,who leaves behind her loving husband and 5 beautiful children," Lisa's friends, Dawn and Melissa, outlined on the GoFundMe page.
They said the funds raised are to "help with the funeral costs and near future to help Stephen who will now become a stay at home father to look after his children full time. With Christmas around the corner any small donation will be highly appreciated".
There has been an outpouring of generosity with over 420 donations received by Friday afternoon, just 24 hours after the online fundraising campaign was launched.
Lisa Hoey (née O'Donnell), died suddenly on Sunday, November 5th 2023.
The Arden View resident was a mother of five and a very popular young woman in the town and beyond.
Condolences were paid locally and from many friends around the world to Lisa who "always had a smile" and a warm personality.
