Two Gardaí were injured performing their duties in Roscrea over the weekend when they attempted to apprehend the occupants of a stolen car.
The injured Gardaí, both men who are said to have not suffered any serious injuries, approached the stolen vehicle at a checkpoint on the Birr Road (N62) in Roscrea at approximately 10:30pm on Saturday night.
The driver of the stolen vehicle rammed the Garda patrol car before fleeing the scene at high speed.
A man was apprehended in relation to the incident and was detained at Nenagh Garda Station. He will appear in Limerick court this week on a number of offences.
