Two men are to appear in court on Tuesday after a row broke on Saturday night at Longford's Summer Festival.

The pair were arrested by uniformed gardaí at around 10pm and brought to Longford garda station where they were later charged.

Both men are due to appear at a sitting of Longford District Court on Tuesday.

"Gardaí have arrested two males in connection to public order incidents that occurred at approximately 10pm last night, Saturday, July 15 on the Main Street of Longford Town." said a garda spokesperson.

"Both males have been charged and are due to appear before a sitting of Longford District Court at approximately 10:30am on July 18."

The festival, which made its long awaited return after a three year Covid enforced hiatus, drew to a close on Sunday night.
